The simulation of a new energy vehicle (EV) model by Beijing Working Department of China Automobile Center shows that for every 100kg reduction in vehicle quality, the battery power will decrease by 1.1 kWh, and the cost will decrease by 1,650 yuan/kWh. Therefore, for electric vehicles, the application of lightweight technology can reduce the cost of loading power batteries while maintaining the same mileage. There are three ways to reduce weight, which are optimizing structure design, reducing parts quantity, adopting lightweight material, that is, low density or high strength material, adopting efficient and reliable forming technology, joining technology and surface treatment technology.

When fluoroborate is combined with a new cathode material in high voltage lithium batteries, the performance of the electrolyte is much better than that of conventional salts.
