As the name suggests, clean air metal (tsxv: air) is focused on the search for metals that can clean the air – the metals needed for electric vehicles, mainly platinum and palladium, copper and nickel.
Palladium is one of the rare precious metals in the world. The content of palladium in the earth's crust is about one hundred million, much less than gold. It is a by-product of nickel and copper mining. Currently, about 85% of palladium is used in automotive exhaust systems, which helps to convert toxic pollutants into less harmful carbon dioxide and water vapor.
With the continuous improvement of automobile pollution control standards in various countries, especially in China, the market demand for palladium metal is also increasing rapidly. Therefore, in recent years, the price of palladium has continuously reached a record high.
Clean air metal has recently integrated two high-grade platinum palladium projects in the Thunder Bay area of Northern Ontario and has begun primary exploration for this project. On June 16, 2020, the company announced that it has completed the financing of C $6.7 million through private placement, and the company's current holding capital has reached $16 million, which provides guarantee for promoting this potential project.
For Jim Gallagher, CEO of clean air metal, the palladium reserves in Thunder Bay area are definitely worth looking forward to, and they are definitely not making judgments out of thin air. Under his leadership, the lac des iles mine, which is also located in this area, has finally become bigger and stronger.
The lac des iles mine was originally owned by North American palladium company in Canada. Jim Gallagher is the CEO of this company, leading the company to realize the process from production to profit. At the end of 2019, the South African company implats acquired 100% of North American Palladium for a total cash consideration of C $1 billion.
In early 2020, Jim Gallagher, who left North American palladium, took over as CEO of clean air metal and continued to search for palladium deposits in his familiar Thunder Bay area.
"Impala platinum * * has recently acquired the Las des iles mine, highlighting the global importance of platinum group rich Thunder Bay North," he said. Clean air metals has consolidated two potential PGE attributes through a number of impressive PGE Ni Cu cross sections in North America, and is committed to expanding these results through a large number of historical exploration drilling. "
The Thunder Bay north project held by clean air metal is a high-grade Norilsk type pgm-ni-cu magmatic system, which contains pollution controlled catalytic conversion minerals platinum and palladium (1:1). The deposit also contains nickel for batteries and copper, the lifeblood of electric vehicles.
The Thunder Bay north project and the lac des iles mine, which has just been acquired for CA $1 billion, belong to the same type and grade of materials. The historical estimated resource is 9.8 million tons, and the average platinum equivalent grade is 2.3 g / T. the potential of resource increase also needs further exploration and verification.
On May 22, 2020, the company announced that it would start drilling with diamond bit of at least 10000 meters in the stage of * *. ***The phased drilling will consist of approximately 15-20 boreholes, 500-600m each, spaced 50 meters apart, to define the extent of the escape Lake mineralized area, which is currently open in all directions. The whole focus of exploration activity is to test the escape Lake intrusive rock which is parallel to the current Lake intrusive rock and contains 9.8 million tons of historical estimated resources with platinum equivalent grade of 2.3 g / T.
On June 17, the company announced the preliminary drilling results of stage * * of escape Lake intrusive rock, which confirmed the high-grade nature of the deposit. The drilling results include 78.9m blocks with platinum grade of 1.66g/t and palladium grade of 2.17g/t, including 20m ore blocks with platinum grade of 3.23g/t, palladium grade of 4.27g/t, 1.54% copper and 0.84% nickel.
On June 29, 2020, the company announced an additional 10000 meters drilling plan in the second phase. The company said that it is expected to integrate all drilling results of this year into the new 43-101 resource report of * * in the second quarter of 2021.
